The Challenger motorcycle road racing leather suit was designed by Komodo Gear with these economic times in mind. We all know that motorcycle racing is more than a sport….it is really an addiction! Motorcycle racers tend to make it to the track whether they can afford it or not. Because Komodo Gear has had such a “track side” presence over the past five plus years, we have seen that the equipment that tends to get neglected when funds are tight is racing leathers and boots! The mindset is: “hey, I’m probably not going to crash this weekend anyway, so my leathers will be “good enough” for one more race”. Problem is, at the last race of the season you are still saying the same thing…right?
The Challenger Motorcycle Road Racing Suit costs $700.00 and is “Komodo Gear” quality. Granted…$700.00 is not cheap, but a $5,000.00 skin graft is not either! The Challenger Race Suit is constructed of premium quality 1.3mm full grain leather. It is held together with triple stitched seams, and is reinforced in the impact areas. Where you see an accordion stretch panel there is a separate layer of 1.3mm full grain leather beneath. Only genuine C.E. rated armor is used.
You can buy racing leathers for $300.00, on-line or from you buddy. But don’t you owe it to yourself and your families to spend a little bit more and get protection you can trust? We’re talking $400.00. The race season runs about 10 months. That’s only $40.00 a month. All of us waste at least $40.00 a month. “Conserve to get the protection you deserve!!”

2012 Motorcycle Drag Racing – Drag Race Suit
The adrenaline rushes of 0-160mph it a few seconds? Yes, we are speaking about Motorcycle Drag Racing. Racers have gone from the streets to the track as Drag Racing becomes more popular throughout the United States. Several years ago Drag racers wore very little for protection however, with advances in the sport also come advances in rider’s safety. Sanctioned organizations have specific guidelines and that is why Komodo Gear worked closely with several AMA Pro Star drag racers on designing a protective and affordable drag race suit that would be NHRA legal with features that include reinforced impact zones with a second layer of leather (knees, elbows, forearms, shoulders, butt); a 360 degree full circumference zipper and flared legs for a full boot cut. The race suit also insides an inside pocket along with stretch panels in the crotch and arms including a D-ring on each arm! Also keeping in mind with today’s economic climate, the price is incomparable at $499.95 US.

Komodo Gear developed the Challenger Race Suit in response to the changing needs of amateur racers and “privateers” who, as a demographic, have been more adversely affected by the economic down turn than most other groups. A “products” cost now can make the difference between “racing” and staying home! As a result, we at Komodo Gear, have been saddened by the shift we have seen track side, from the interest in value to the preoccupation with price! Most of the time a racers’ ego will prevent them from buying cheap parts for their bikes because down deep we all know “you get what you pay for”, and to look “lame” at the track is the only thing worse than not being there. However, when it comes to race suits; now that’s a different story! All suits are really the same…right? I only paid $300.00 for my suit, because I got it on line and “they” can sell stuff cheaper on line…right? “They” wouldn’t put on Craig’s List if it weren’t good…right? And anyway, I’m not going to crash…right? Well, let me tell you something, “WRONG” on all counts!!
All suits are not created equal, especially from the “big names”. The “cheap models” are not built the same as the “premium models” nor are the same quality components or manufacturing processes used. A $300.00 “on-line” suit is junk whether you buy it on-line or out of the back of the trunk of a car in an alley. The suit was placed on eBay because someone didn’t want it, which should give you a clue as to how good it is! And YOU are going to crash; it is just a matter of time and how severe will be the crash!
Now let me ask a few questions. How valuable is your ability to be at work on Monday morning? How much is your top layer of skin worth? Do you have a week of sick leave at work you can use when the cheap suit fails to adequately protect you? Allow me to answer this way: the Challenger Race Suit costs $699.95!!
